CrossFit Games 2021 will be taking place in a few weeks and many CrossFit Games participants are very excited. Other than the traditional CrossFit Games, events for women will be held. The women's competition, Pegboard contests, Cutting system and Reebok equipment are all well-known. But, do you really know what to expect? Continue reading to find out! Don't forget the CrossFit news page to get the latest information about the competition.
Women's competition
The 2021 Crossfit Games' women's competition started this morning with the swim race. Jonne and Tia Claire Toomey-Orr won the first competition. Koski took the overall title after she held her lead through the entire competition. Tall finished second and Eramoo O’Connell third, respectively. It was the women's first event in the Games and the women's side was hoping to complete the podium.
The women's competition features top-level female athletes. The field includes nine athletes. One of them is a 19-year old powerhouse, who won the Australian competition last year. Kara Saunders from Australia, who placed second in Australia and 11th globally in 2020 are other contenders. Andrea Nisler was also a rising star. In 2018, she competed in team division and came in third in the United States. She finished fifteenth in 2020. The Women's competition will feature these athletes as well as Sara Sigmundsdottir (an Icelandan competitor who won the first place medal at World Crossfit Games earlier last year).
Pegboard contest
Pegboard competition at Crossfit Games 2021 was the first. It was also added to the Games' Olympic summer program. Toomey-Orr won 30 of the Games' most events, setting a new record. Sager won Event 11 and became the Games' third winner. Although there were many ties, Toomey-Orr's dominance wasn't enough to prevent him from winning the contest.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. Pegboard tests the grip strength and coordination of competitors. A scale is used to determine the strength and coordination of competitors. The competition was fierce and the athletes felt a sense accomplishment after finishing the Pegboard.
Cutting system
The CrossFit Games will once again employ a cutting system for the individual competition. The cuts are not as severe as those used in past Games but they are still very different. There are 15 events in the competition, so it is possible that 30 athletes will be cut after the eighth or seventh event. CrossFit's decision on how to adjust the points distributed after cuts remains a question. It's probable that the scoring table used for the 2019 games will remain nearly the same as the one used in 2021.
This year's field consists of 236 athletes, making it the largest in the history of the CrossFit Games. The six first events lead to major cuts. The field is reduced down to 75 athletes. To determine the top ten, the top 30 athletes compete in a sprint tandem. From there, the top 20 athletes compete in the remaining six events. Castro's system has been criticized by veterans Games athletes who feel that the cuts are too significant.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok has released new CrossFit Games shoes, clothing and equipment. The Nano X1 are the new shoes. They are designed to suit multiple fitness requirements. Reebok has billed this shoe as "the shoe of fitness," but it actually feels more like a traditional training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar fabric is used for the upper, which promotes breathability and durability. The shoe's responsiveness is enhanced by the RopePro tech and a firm midsole.

CrossFit and Reebok's partnership will end in 2020. Reebok has sponsored the Games for more than a decade. It is now evident that their involvement in the Games will decrease. Reebok won’t pay for the Games’ prize, but they will continue to make all athletic apparel, equipment, and gear worn by athletes. However, the company will no longer refer to itself as the "Reebok CrossFit Games" as it does now.

People live longer lives than ever before. But as they do, they're also getting sicker. Our current medical science approach is not working, even though we've made many advances.
It's time to change our perceptions of health and aging. To achieve healthy aging, we must look at metabolic health as more than just weight loss. It is also important to consider overall wellness.

Is it true to say that protein overeating can lead to kidney stones?
Protein helps maintain healthy bones and tissue. But consuming too much protein can lead to calcium excretion through urine. In turn, this can result in kidney stones.
It is important to keep in mind that not everyone will develop kidney stones if they consume more protein than 2 grams per kilogram (2.2lbs). It is possible to eat high levels of protein without developing kidney stones.
By being careful with your sodium intake, you can prevent kidney stones. The kidneys regulate the amount of sodium they consume. Too much sodium results in a higher risk of developing kidney stones.
You can also try reducing your protein intake if you get kidney stones. Protein accounts for about half the daily caloric requirement of most adults. You'll lose weight if you reduce your intake of protein.
If you do decide to eat more protein, don't go overboard. Try to eat less than 20% protein in total calories.
