
CrossFit Games 2021 will be taking place in a few weeks and many CrossFit Games participants are very excited. Apart from the usual men's and ladies' competitions, there will be some women's events. Women's competition
The 2021 Crossfit Games' women's competition started this morning with the swim race. Jonne Koski was the winner in the first race. Tia Clair Toomey Orr was also victorious. Koski took the overall title after she held her lead through the entire competition. Tall and Eramo O'Connell finished second and third, respectively. It was the first Games for women, and the women's side hoped to complete the podium.
The field is full of top-level athletes in the women's competition. The field includes nine athletes, including a 19-year-old powerhouse who won the competition in Australia last year. Kara Saunders from Australia, who placed second in Australia and 11th globally in 2020 are other contenders. Another rising star is Andrea Nisler, who competed in the team division in 2018 and finished third in the United States and fifteenth overall in 2020. This competition will include these athletes and Sara Sigmundsdottir of Iceland, a newcomer to Crossfit. She won the first place Medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier.
Pegboard contest
Pegboard competition at Crossfit Games 2021 was the first. It was added to Crossfit Games' summer Olympic program alongside double-unders & dumbbell overhead Squats. Toomey-Orr held the record for most Games wins with 30. Sager won Event 11 men's and received his third Games win. While there were many tie-breakers, ToomeyOrr's dominance was enough to win the contest.

Athletes train for the CrossFit Games by focusing on ten general physical fitness skills: cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, power, speed, and agility. Pegboard tests the grip strength and coordination of competitors. The athletes compete on a scale by holding two wooden pegs between their hands. The competition was intense, and the athletes left feeling satisfied after completing their Pegboard.
Cutting system
CrossFit Games will again use a cutting method for individual competition. This is not as extreme as past Games cuts, but it is very different this year. It consists of 15 events so 30 athletes could be reduced after the seventh and eighth events. Another question remains: how will CrossFit adjust the points spread following cuts? The scoring table used in the 2019 games was nearly identical to the one used in 2021, so it's likely that this will continue to be the case.
This year's field consists of 236 athletes, making it the largest in the history of the CrossFit Games. Major cuts are made in the first six events. The field is now reduced to 75. To determine the top ten, the top 30 athletes compete in a sprint tandem. The top 20 competitors then compete for the remaining six events. Castro's system was strongly criticised by former Games participants, who felt that cuts were too substantial.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok recently announced new CrossFit Games equipment, including clothing and shoes. The Nano X1 is the new shoe. They're made to fit multiple fitness needs. Reebok describes this shoe as the "shoe of fitness", but it actually feels more like an ordinary training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar, which promotes durability, breathability, and strength, is the shoe's upper. The shoe's responsiveness is enhanced by the RopePro tech and a firm midsole.

CrossFit's sponsorship contract with Reebok is ending at the end of 2020. There will not be a title sponsor for the Games. Reebok has sponsored these Games for over a decade. However, it now appears that the company's involvement in the Games is decreasing. Reebok won't be funding the Games' prize fund, but will continue making all athletic apparel and equipment worn athletes by, including the Reebok gear. However, the company will no longer refer to itself as the "Reebok CrossFit Games" as it does now.
